Fido launching Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro mid-August for $100 on 3 year term?

According to a recently leaked internal document, Fido is preparing to launch a new Android handset - the Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro. The Xperia Pro features a 3.7" (480x854) touchscreen display and sliding full QWERTY keyboard, and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread at launch. It's powered by a 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM, and comes with an 8MP camera with LED flash and 720p HD video recording, in addition to a secondary front-facing VGA camera. It also features the same Sony Mobile BRAVIA engine found in the Xperia arc, and offers connectivity including Wi-Fi (b/g/n, hotspot), bluetooth, and GPS, along with an HDMI port for those looking to get their phone's display on the big screen.

No confirmation as of yet on an exact release date, but the document states that it will be available mid-August, so we should be able to expect it soon. Pricing hasn't been made available either, and no information has been leaked so far, but it will likely come in around $100 on a 3 year term, or $400-$500 contract-free. We'll be sure to keep you updated on any further information that comes our way!
