Sony Xperia U coming soon to Fido

We just let you know that Fido is preparing to launch the LG Optimus 7, but they’re also planning to release the Sony Xperia U. The Xperia U features a 3.5” (480 x 854) LED-backlit LCD touch screen display, with the Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine. It has a 5 MP camera with LED flash and 720p HD video recording, along with a secondary VGA front-facing camera. Currently, the Xperia U runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, however Sony has expressed their intentions to upgrade it to 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The Xperia U is powered by a dual-core 1 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM, and comes with 4 GB of internal memory. Connectivity options are as expected, with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and HSPA.

Pricing and a specific launch date are unavailable currently, however online speculation points to it launching sooner rather than later. Keep an eye out, as we’ll be keeping you updated!
