Nokia Lumia 900 preorders begin next week from Rogers, launching early April?

Those looking to pick up a Windows Phone device will soon have another option to choose from in Mango flavour, as Rogers will start taking pre-orders for the Nokia Lumia 900 starting next week. The handset, which is expected to launch in early April, is rumoured to cost $629.99 contract free, and around the $99.99 mark with a 3 year term.

The Lumia 900 features a 4.3” (480 x 800) touch screen display with Gorilla Glass, and an 8MP rear-facing camera with dual-LED flash and Carl Zeiss optics. The camera is capable of 720p video capture, and the device also has a 1.3MP front-facing camera. It’s powered by a 1.4GHz processor and 512MB of RAM, and comes with 16GB of onboard storage. It doesn’t come with a memory card slot, which may be an issue for some. The Lumia 900 features LTE connectivity, which will definitely be a huge selling feature. Other connectivity options include the usual HSPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.

The update registration page also mentions that there is a surprise for those who pre-order being offered up by Rogers and Nokia. What the surprise is remains a secret, but Rogers hints saying “there’s a hero rising out of the darkness”.
