Motorola has officially launched a fairly unique product to Canadians, the Motorola MOTOACTIV. The device looks much like a watch, but features a 1.6? touch screen made of Gorilla Glass, and advertised to be sweat-proof, rain-resistant, and scratch-resistant. So what?s the big deal?

The MOTOACTIV is powered by Android and is a ?cutting-edge GPS fitness tracker, heart rate monitor-enabled, and smart MP3 player? in one. Using GPS and AccuSense technology, it can track your running, walking, cycling, and other workout data including time, distance, speed, calories burned, and heart rate (if paired with a heart rate monitor). It features tight integration with your smart phone as well, allowing you to pair it to receive calls and text messages on the go, in addition to mobile and online access to their ?Training Portal?. As far as MP3 functionality, the MOTOACTIV comes with 8GB of built in memory, and it also offers FM radio capabilities. If you?re looking to extend the device?s functionality even further, you can also pair it with pedometers and bike sensors for more details on your workout or exercise.

The MOTOACTIV is available now in limited quantities Running Room stores, and online at thesource.ca. Motorola let us know that the device would retail for $249.99, though The Source has it listed (and currently out of stock) for $259.99. The affordable Nokia C2-01 is now available from Bell, featuring a 2.2" (320x240) display, and standard phone keypad reminiscent of days passed. It comes with a 3.2MP camera and can record QVGA video. Connectivity options are limited to bluetooth for this simple handset, though it does come with an FM radio to listen to your favourite local channel on the go. The Nokia C2-01 is available now for free with a 3 year contract, or just $119.95 outright from Bell.

Bell has been launching plenty of handsets lately, but it looks like they don't plan on stopping anytime soon. According to screenshots leaked online, the Nokia C2-01 will be exclusively available from Bell. It is a basic S40 handset that features a 2" (240x320) display, along with a 3.2MP camera and FM radio. The device can be expanded up to 16GB via microSD card for those looking for extra room for music, etc. No word on pricing, but this affordable Nokia handset is set to launch on July 14th.

Those looking for the latest and greatest Android handset to hit shelves should make their way to Bell or Virgin Mobile quickly, as they have just officially launched the HTC Sensation 4G! The Sensation runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and has a 4.3" (540x960) touchscreen Gorilla Glass display, and is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz processor and 768MB of RAM. It comes equipped with an 8MP camera with dual-LED flash, and is capable of recording 1080p video. Other features include TV-out, FM radio, and a secondary VGA camera. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi (b/g/n, hotspot), bluetooth, and GPS.

Bell has released this powerful handset for $149.95 on a 3 year term, or $549.95 contract-free. Virgin Mobile has it priced at basically the same, with 3 year contract pricing at $149.99, or outright at $549.99.

First Videotron launched the super-powerful LG Optimus 2X, and now WIND Mobile have gone ahead releasing the device as well. The 2X, for those who haven't kept an eye on it, features a 4" (480x800) touchscreen Gorilla Glass display, 8GB of storage, and an 8MP camera with LED flash and 1080p HD video capture. It also has a secondary 1.3MP front-facing camera, and is powered by a dual-core 1GHz processor and 512MB of RAM. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi (b/g/n, hotspot), bluetooth, and GPS, and the handset runs on Android 2.2 Froyo. Other notable features include its HDMI port and FM radio connectivity, which both seem to be hit or miss for recently released smartphones.

If you're looking to pick up the Optimus 2X from WIND Mobile, it is now available for the decent price of $445 contract-free. Customers also have the option of subsidizing a part of the cost using the WINDtab, which will reduce it down to $295 upfront, with the remainder being paid off monthly via your typical invoice. Videotron has finally launched the Nokia C7-00, which was originally expected to launch in late April or so. The C7 runs on Symbian^3 OS, and features a 3.5" (360x640) AMOLED touchscreen display, along with an 8MP camera with dual-LED flash and 720p HD video recording. It's powered by a 680MHz processor, and comes with 256MB of RAM, 1GB of ROM, and 8GB of internal storage space, expandable via microSD. Connectivity options for the C7-00 include Wi-Fi (b, g, n), bluetooth 3.0, and GPS. It also has TV-out functionality and an FM radio transmitter.

The C3-01 features a 2.4" (240x320) touchscreen display, in addition to a standard phone keypad, offering up a few options for navigation and data input. Additionally, this new Nokia handset has a 5MP camera with LED flash and video capture capabilities, and support Wi-Fi and bluetooth connectivity, along with an FM radio. For media fans, the C3-01 can be upgraded to a maximum of 32GB of memory, using a microSD card purchased separately.

This S40 6th edition Symbian based handset is available now, for a very reasonable $159.99 contract-free, or $59.99 with a 3 year contract.

Thanks to leaked information online, we've found out that Telus will be adding a new Nokia handset to their line-up, the C3-01 "Touch and Type". The C3-01 features a 2.4" (240x320) touchscreen display, in addition to a standard phone keypad. Coming with a 5MP camera with LED flash and video recording capabilities, the C3-01 runs on S40 6th edition, and supports Wi-Fi and bluetooth connectivity, along with an FM radio. Lastly, the "Touch and Type" supports memory expansio up to 32GB via microSD card to hold all of your pictures, videos, and music. No word yet on an exact launch date or pricing, but we'll be sure to keep you updated once more information becomes available.

Great news for those with Fido or considering them for their mobile services, they have recently launched two new entry-level handsets - The Nokia C1 and LG Neon 2. Additionally, they have also released the white version of the LG Gossip, adding to the variety of devices available in their line-up.

The Nokia C1 is a very basic bar-style phone that features a 1.8" (128x160) display, bluetooth connectivity, and a VGA camera. The C1 supports up to 32GB of memory using a microSD card, along with FM radio connectivity. The LG Neon 2 features a 3" (240x400) touchscreen display, 2MP camera with video capture capabilities, and connectivity options including FM radio and bluetooth. The Neon 2 can be expanded up to 8GB via microSD card for those who want extra storage for their media.

Last on the list is the LG Gossip in white, which has all of the same features and specifications but comes in a nice white variety. All of these devices are available now from Fido, and all are $0 on a new 2-year term, though contract-free pricing varies from handset to handset. The Nokia C1 comes in at $50 contract-free, while the LG Neon 2 is set at $150 outright, and the LG Gossip in white is priced $90 without a term.
