Samsung Galaxy S Captivate finally launched by Rogers, inventory limited

It has certainly been a long and impatient wait for Canadians looking to get their hands on a Samsung Galaxy S Captivate through Rogers, but it seems as though the time has finally come. As of yesterday, the Captivate is officially available for $179.99 on a 3 year term, or $549.99 contract-free, though inventory is apparently limited, so it will likely sell out fast. The Captivate features a 4" (480x800) super AMOLED touch screen display, along with a 1GHz processor, 5MP camera capable of recording 720p video, and 16GB of onboard memory. Additionally, the device support Wi-Fi connectivity to help users stay connected, and apparently comes with Swype installed right out of the box. The Samsung Galaxy S Captivate ships running Android OS 2.1, though we've recently gotten word that v2.2 will be available by "early 2011" at the latest. If you're looking to pick one of these up, it's best to act quickly, as odds are it will sell out very fast - so head to your local Rogers retail outlet or call Customer Care now!
