Rogers discontinues BlackBerry Pearl 8110

Rogers has officially discontinued the BlackBerry Pearl 8110, with the Pearl 3G having been out for several weeks now. The Pearl 8110 served as an entry-level device for Canadians for years, and helped RIM get their devices into the consumer market. The Pearl 3G, which maintains the same form-factor as previous Pearl models, improves most features including the camera, processor, memory, etc. Head to Rogers now to pick up a Pearl 9100 3G for $49.99 on a 3 year term, or $424.99 contract-free. If you do own a Pearl 3G, remember that RIM has confirmed that it will get BlackBerry 6, the new operating system that will first launch on the Torch 9800.
