The affordable Nokia C2-01 is now available from Bell, featuring a 2.2" (320x240) display, and standard phone keypad reminiscent of days passed. It comes with a 3.2MP camera and can record QVGA video. Connectivity options are limited to bluetooth for this simple handset, though it does come with an FM radio to listen to your favourite local channel on the go. The Nokia C2-01 is available now for free with a 3 year contract, or just $119.95 outright from Bell.

It looks like Rogers is preparing to launch a new entry-level Nokia handset, the X2-01. The X2 is an affordable device that comes with a full QWERTY keyboard, and runs on Symbian OS S40. It features a 2.4" (320x240) display, and a VGA camera, and can hold up to 8GB via microSD card. No word yet on exactly when it will be made available, or what the pricing will look like, but it should certainly be on the lower end when it comes to cost. It's also possible that the device is destined for Rogers' Prepaid line-up, but only time will tell!

WIND Mobile released the LG Optimus 2X, a device that's regarded as fairly hard to beat in Canada, but they aren't forgetting their roots. For those looking for a more affordable option, they have also launched the Huawei U6150, a simple device with a full physical QWERTY keyboard. It features a 2.4" (320x240) display, and comes with a 2MP camera and AGPS functionality, along with bluetooth connectivity.

The Huawei U6150 is available now from WIND Mobile for a very affordable price of $98 contract-free, or those looking to pick it up for free can do so using the WINDtab.

Videotron has been on a roll with handset launches, and now they have released the Nokia E73, adding the device to their ever-growing line-up. The E73, which features a full QWERTY keyboard and 2.4" (320x240) display, runs on Symbian S60. It comes with a 5MP camera with LED flash, and offers Wi-Fi and bluetooth connectivity, along with Assisted GPS.

The Nokia E73 is available now from Videotron, for $49.95 "reduced price", or $199.95 contract-free. If you're looking for a fairly affordable device on a post-paid plan and live in Quebec, be sure to check this one out from Videotron.

While it's exciting to see new smartphones launch, it's always nice to see the Prepaid users get a bit of attention as well. Rogers isn't ignoring their prepaid line-up, and has recently added the Nokia E5 to their list available devices. Coming in at $159.99, the E5 features a 2.36" (320x240) display and full QWERTY keyboard, and runs on Symbian OS S60 v9.3. It has a 5MP camera with LED flash and VGA video capture, and supports bluetooth and GPS connectivity. If you're looking for an affordable device on a prepaid account, the Nokia E5 could make a great choice.

There have been a variety of handsets launching in Canada lately across the multiple carriers, and Rogers is adding yet another to their inventory. The Nokia E5, which we can expect to launch in the near-future according to recently leaked information, runs on Symbian S60 OS v9.3. We recently let you know that Fido was getting set to launch the BlackBerry Curve 9300, and today they've done just that. The Curve 3G is now available for $30 on a 3 year term, or $400 contract-free. The 9300 has a 2.4" (320x240) display, full QWERTY keyboard, and runs on BlackBerry OS 6. It features a 2MP camera, and offers Wi-Fi, bluetooth, and GPS connectivity.

While the Curve 9300 isn't the most exciting device in today's mobile market, it is nice to see Fido giving customers more options!

Telus has had the INQ Chat 3G available on Prepaid for quite a while now, with the price staying at a pretty consistent $149.99 until now. Effective immediately, the Chat 3G is now set to a low $69.99 price point if purchased/activated on Telus' prepaid service.
