According to Jim Balsillie, the Canada is the country with the greatest penetration of BlackBerry per capita. The President of Research In Motion (maker of the famous BlackBerry) said that to the Canadian Association of wireless telecommunications. (ACTS)

"Canada was the birthplace of the BlackBerry platform and Canada continues to generate the highest per capita penetration of BlackBerry smartphones in the world today," said Jim Balsillie, co-CEO of Waterloo, Ontario-based RIM. "We are fortunate to be located in a country with a thriving wireless industry that continues to offer businesspeople and consumers world-class wireless data services. RIM works with hundreds of carriers internationally and I am proud to say that the Canadian carriers and our collective success are well respected within the worldwide industry."

We believe Jim Balsillie really do not live in Canada and do not really know the prices that are requested from Canadian wireless subscribers, because if it did it would not declare that. But I think that Jim speaks wireless operators in terms of glory because a portion of their profits return to RIM. The miss of competition in Canada is not a good thing for this industry in Canada.

Today, Rogers is officially launching its new 3G network in Canada. Rogers will offer its Vision service, video telephony, in 22 cities in Canada. This means that Rogers will cover with its network of the third generation 60% of Canada. "This major expansion solidifies Rogers' position as Canada's fastest and most advanced wireless network," said John Boynton, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Rogers Wireless. "Rogers Vision is a quantum leap forward in wireless communications and has revolutionized the way customers access information and entertainment on-the-go both at home and abroad." No reduction in mobile data packages are scheduled from Rogers, but the fact that the third generation could come to be available from Rogers is a major point for Canada. Finally, remember that the service of Video Vision is available only in Canada at the moment, because no American operator, according to Rogers, offers this service at this time. The cities that will now be covered by HSDPA Rogers are: Greater Vancouver, Kelowna, Victoria, Whistler, Calgary, Edmonton, Fort McMurray, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Regina, Ottawa/Gatineau, Kingston, Sudbury, Barrie, London, Kitchener/Waterloo, Guelph, Windsor, Greater Montreal, Quebec City, Chicoutimi and Trois-Rivi?res. Rogers Vision is already available in the Greater Toronto Area, Hamilton/St. Catharines, Burlington/Oakville.

Fujitsu has just announced the exit of F703i, cellular ultra thin, but especially seals. The telephone, nevertheless rather pretty, would support a one meter depth during approximately 30seconde. Obviously, the goal is not to speak in the swimming pool, but rather to avoid damaging the cellular one when an awkwardness occurs close to a water hole. The telephone is at present available at NTT-DoCoMo.
