We originally let you know that Telus would be releasing a new Android-powered device that had internal naming of the "Triumph", though we soon learned that this was in-fact the HTC Desire. It looks like dummy handsets have began arriving at Telus locations, indicating a near-future launch. Unfortunately no pricing information is available as of yet, however we should see the device available soon. The HTC Desire has impressive specifications, featuring a 3.7" (480x800) touch screen, 5MP camera, and runs on Android 2.1. Users can expect a snappy experience as this device has a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 576MB of RAM, and 512MB of internal memory.

Telus is launching a new Android powered handset sometime in July, with internal screenshots calling it the "HTC Triumph", though recent speculation points to the device actually being a renamed version of the HTC Desire. While no confirmation has been received on exactly which device it will be or an exact availability date, Canadians can be sure that it will most likely be a higher-end device. If it is the HTC Desire, features will include an AMOLED 3.7" (480 x 800) touch screen, 5MP camera, and a snappy 1GHz Snapdragon processor, in addition to HSPA, GPS, Wi-Fi, and bluetooth connectivity.

Telus has recently dropped the price for the HTC Hero to $29.99 with a 3 year contract, likely in preparation for the upcoming Desire(Triumph?) handset launch. The HTC Hero is an HSPA device, runs on Android OS 2.1 with SenseUI to deliver a smooth user experience, and is available in either black or white. Unfortunately all other price points for the handset remain the same, at $399.99 on a 2 year term, or $499.99 outright.

With this price drop, we expect the HTC Desire to arrive in the near future, with all signs pointing to a mid-June launch, though no exact pricing/availability information is available yet.
