Samsung has recently stated via Twitter that the Canadian Galaxy S III launch has been delayed. The release of the highly anticipated Android device has been pushed back by 7 days, and is now expected to be released on June 27th. The delay will apply to all carriers launching the handset, which is pretty well all of them.

The delay, according to Samsung, is due to the extreme worldwide demand for the handset. While it may be frustrating to wait the extra week, most people can agree that such a widespread simultaneous release within Canada is still a great thing.

Hopefully there aren't any additional delays, but we'll be sure to keep you updated on any further information on the Samsung Galaxy S III as it becomes available!

Samsung?s Galaxy Note has been a popular device in Canada, and has proven to be one of the best available for those who don?t mind the large size. And while the Tab line-up of tablets has been important in the progress of Android tablets in the market, it?s no surprise that Samsung is pushing the ?Note? name further. Scheduled for release sometime in the coming months, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 should merge the two series together, and has the specifications required to be successful.

Originally, the Note 10.1 was demonstrated to include a dual-core 1.4 GHz processor and the S Pen stylus, but no room in the hardware itself to store it when not in use. Now, thanks to newly leaked information, we know that the processor has been upgraded to a quad-core Exynos processor with a powerful Mali-T604 graphics chip. Additionally, Samsung has incorporated an S Pen slot, a move that makes a lot of sense. Other features include its 10.1? (800 x 1280) touch screen display and 3.15 MP camera with LED flash and 1080p HD video capture. The Note 10.1 runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, comes with 1 GB of RAM, and is set to be a Wi-Fi only tablet.

While nothing has been confirmed regarding a Canadian launch, Samsung has been relatively good about getting their devices to Canada recently, so we should see the device shortly after the United States does. Pricing is still unknown as well, but we?ll keep you updated on any further information throughout the coming weeks and months!

A little while back, we let you know that Rogers employees had received documentation from LG regarding their Optimus L7 handset, but we haven?t heard anything official since. Now, internal documentation from Fido has been leaked online, indicating that the device will be launched by them as well.

The LG Optimus L7 features a 4.3? (480 x 800) touch screen display with Gorilla Glass, and a 5 MP camera with LED flash and VGA video recording. It runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and is powered by a 1 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM. Other features include its secondary front-facing camera, and connectivity including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, etc.

As for pricing and a release time frame, no information is available as of yet. It?s likely that pricing will come in on the lower end of the spectrum, and with any luck, we?ll see the handset launch in the next month or so.

Possibly one of the most anticipated Android handsets since the OS was first introduced by Google, the Samsung Galaxy S III has been officially announced. It features a 4.8? (720 x 1280) Super AMOLED touchscreen display, and is powered by a quad-core 1.4 GHz processor. There will be two variations, an HSPA+ model and an LTE version. It comes with an 8 MP camera with LED flash and 1080p HD video recording, along with a 1.9 MP front-facing camera capable of 720p video capture. Other noteworthy specifications include its 1 GB of RAM, and its Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and NFC connectivity options.

Some of the features that make the S III unique in the Android market include SmartStay and S Voice. SmartStay uses the front-facing camera to detect when you are looking at the screen, preventing the display from timing out. S Voice allows users to give voice commands, and is somewhat similar to Siri on the iPhone. Those who purchase a Galaxy S III will also get a whopping 50 GB of extra Dropbox storage, and will have a wide array of accessories to purchase.

As for design, the Galaxy S III?s huge 4.8? screen rests inside an 8.6 mm thin body. The handset is going to be made in black and white versions, though it hasn?t been confirmed that we?ll see both in Canada. What has been communicated by Samsung, however, is that we will see the device sometime this summer! Pricing and carrier availability are unknown currently, but it?s likely that Rogers, Bell, and Telus will each offer the device, in one variation or another.

If you?re interested in this Ice Cream Sandwich device, you?re surely not alone. Check back soon as we?ll keep you updated on any further information pertaining to its launch!

Motorola has sent out a press release officially announcing that the MOTOLUXE is heading to Canada, with a scheduled Q2 release. This new Android handset from Motorola features a new user-interface that ?learns? about your use and tailors certain parts of your home screen to your behaviour. For instance, the contacts you interact with most often will have larger icons than the rest on your home screen, and the ?Activity Graph? will display your most used applications. The device also has a multi-coloured LED indicator, something BlackBerry handsets (with the use of 3rd party apps for advanced customization) have had for some time.

Other features include its 4? (480 x 854)) touch screen display, and 8 MP camera with flash and HD video capture. It has an 800 MHz processor, 1 GB of internal storage, and 512 MB of RAM. The current version of the handset available outside of Canada runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, so we?ll probably see this at launch as well.

Pricing and carrier availability are currently unconfirmed, though rumours around the internet point to Bell and Virgin Mobile picking this device up. With the modest specifications and unique, software-oriented approach, we should see the Motorola MOTOLUXE on the lower end of the pricing spectrum.

According to recently leaked information, Bell is getting set to add the Android powered HTC One V to their line-up on May 3rd. The One V, which is significantly different than the One X that Rogers carries, features a uni-body design, similar to the HTC Legend. Other features include its 3.7? (480 x 800) touch screen display and 5 MP camera with LED flash and 720p video recording. This ICS handset is powered by a 1 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM, and comes with 4 GB of internal memory.

While nothing has been confirmed regarding pricing for, this device is expected to come in at a fairly affordable cost of around $300 outright. Information found online also points to the handset coming to Telus as well, possibly on the same date.

Those looking for a great Android device capable of LTE will soon have another option, via Bell. They have officially added the Galaxy S II HD LTE to their site, stamping it as ?coming soon?. Currently pricing information or a specific date isn?t available, but hopefully we?ll hear something soon.

The S II HD LTE is a powerhouse handset, featuring a 4.65? (720 x 1280) Super AMOLED touch screen display and an 8 MP camera with LED flash and 1080p HD video capture. It?s powered by a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor and 1 GB of RAM, and it has a secondary front-facing 2 MP camera. Current releases of the S II HD LTE run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, though an upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich is expected relatively soon. Connectivity options include the obvious LTE/HSPA, and the standard options including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.

Interested? We?ll let you know as soon as we hear more!

A couple short weeks ago, we let you know that Sony had announced that they were shipping the Xperia S globally, but nothing specific was confirmed for Canada. Now, Sony has come forward with a press release stating that the Android device will be available on April 17th in limited quantities, exclusively from the Sony Store. As for pricing and carrier availability, they make mention that it is compatible with the Rogers network, and later stated that it would be available for $99.99 on a 3 year term through Rogers. Whether Sony will later allow Rogers to sell the handset or not hasn?t been revealed as of yet, and no mention of other carriers seeing the device in the future was made either.

The Sony Xperia S features a 4.3? (1280 x 720) Reality Display with the Mobile BRAVIA Engine, and is powered by a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor. It comes with a 12 MP rear-facing camera with Sony Exmor R for mobile technology, which is capable or recording 1080p video. It also has a front-facing camera capable of 720p video capture, and offers up NFC connectivity, along with the regular connectivity support such as HSPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. It will launch running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, however it?s apparently set for an ICS upgrade in the coming months.
