The last few months have been filled with rumours, but it's now confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S III will be coming to Canada on June 20th. Samsung, along with most carriers, have officially confirmed they will be releasing it, along with the official specifications of the device. To go along with that exciting news, Telus and Rogers have officially released some pricing details, and leaked information reveals some Bell and Virgin Mobile price points.

As many Canadians suspected, we will not be getting the same quad-core version that was recently released in Europe, but rather, the power and speed of a Snapdragon S4 Dual Core 1.5 GHz processor and 2 GB of RAM. It comes in two versions, one with LTE for the major carriers and their subsidiaries (Rogers, Bell, Telus, Virgin Mobile, Sasktel), and a non-LTE version for the other carriers including WIND Mobile, Videotron, and Mobilicity. The LTE version will be available in 16 GB or 32 GB models, however all carriers won?t necessarily offer both. The non-LTE version will be available in only a 16 GB version for now, however both devices also have a micro SD slot capable of an additional 32 GB of expandable memory. The Galaxy S III also features a 4.8" (1280?720 or 306ppi) HD Super AMOLED Gorilla Glass touch screen display, an 8 MP rear-facing camera with LED Flash and 1080p HD video recording as well as a secondary front-facing 1.9 MP camera capable of 720p recording. Also confirmed, but expected, the handset runs on the latest version of Android OS v4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich with Samsungs own TouchWiz UI with Motion UX.

As for pricing, the following information has been made available either officially, or via information leaked online:

Rogers - $149.99 on 3 year term for 16 GB model
Telus - $159.99 on 3 year term for 16 GB model, $679.99 outright. $209.99 on 3 year term for 32 GB model, $749.99 outright.
Bell - $599.95 outright for 16 GB model, $649.95 outright for 32 GB model
Virgin Mobile - $599.99 outright for 16 GB model, $649.99 outright for 32 GB model

Unfortunately pricing for the other confirmed carriers is currently unavailable, however Mobilicity is offering a $100 credit (paid out over 10 months) for those who pre-order before June 15th. Regardless, if you?re interested in picking up a Samsung Galaxy S III, you?ll have many options to choose from on June 20th!

Details are unconfirmed as of yet but we do know that the device will be carried by Rogers, TELUS, Bell, Virgin Mobile, WIND, Videotron, SaskTel, Mobilicity. Rumours indicate that the phone will launch in white and "pebble blue," though more recent (unconfirmed) leaks indicate that there may be a delay in launch for the pebble blue model possibly due to manufacturing issues.

The Samsung Galaxy S III features a 4.8" (720 x 1280) Super AMOLED Gorilla Glass touch screen display, and is powered by a quad-core 1.4 GHz processor and 1 GB of RAM, and could come with anywhere from 16 GB to 64 GB of internal storage. It also features an 8 MP rear-camera with LED Flash and 1080p HD video recording as well as a secondary front-facing 1.9 MP camera capable of 720p recording. We recently let you know that the Motorola MOTOLUXE was coming to Canada, with speculation pointing to a Bell and Virgin Mobile release. Thanks to leaked internal documents surfacing online, we can now confirm that Bell will be carrying it, and intend to launch it on May 22nd. Rumoured outright pricing comes in at $300, and given the specifications of the device, this makes sense. Unfortunately, we have no confirmed launch date for Virgin Mobile, but the device is still expected to make its way there.

The MOTOLUXE features a 4? (480 x 854) touch screen display, and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread at launch. It comes with an 8 MP camera with LED flash and a secondary front-facing VGA camera. It?s powered by an 800 MHz processor and 512 MB of RAM, and offers connectivity including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.

Motorola has sent out a press release officially announcing that the MOTOLUXE is heading to Canada, with a scheduled Q2 release. This new Android handset from Motorola features a new user-interface that ?learns? about your use and tailors certain parts of your home screen to your behaviour. For instance, the contacts you interact with most often will have larger icons than the rest on your home screen, and the ?Activity Graph? will display your most used applications. The device also has a multi-coloured LED indicator, something BlackBerry handsets (with the use of 3rd party apps for advanced customization) have had for some time.

Other features include its 4? (480 x 854)) touch screen display, and 8 MP camera with flash and HD video capture. It has an 800 MHz processor, 1 GB of internal storage, and 512 MB of RAM. The current version of the handset available outside of Canada runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, so we?ll probably see this at launch as well.

Pricing and carrier availability are currently unconfirmed, though rumours around the internet point to Bell and Virgin Mobile picking this device up. With the modest specifications and unique, software-oriented approach, we should see the Motorola MOTOLUXE on the lower end of the pricing spectrum.

Research in Motion officially announced their intentions to launch an HSPA+ and LTE equipped PlayBook around this time last year, but nothing has made an appearance as of yet. Today, however, some good news surfaced ? The FCC (United States) has officially approved the device, which brings us one step closer to its release. To top it off, leaked information that has been floating around the internet recently points to Bell intending for an ?early April? launch, though they clearly state that launch dates are subject to change.

Rumoured features and specifications for the HSPA/LTE enabled PlayBook include a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor and NFC capabilities. Unfortunately, further details are currently unavailable, and rumours are even proving sparse. We?ll keep you updated on any new information as it becomes available!

Those looking to pick up a Windows Phone device will soon have another option to choose from in Mango flavour, as Rogers will start taking pre-orders for the Nokia Lumia 900 starting next week. The handset, which is expected to launch in early April, is rumoured to cost $629.99 contract free, and around the $99.99 mark with a 3 year term.

The Lumia 900 features a 4.3? (480 x 800) touch screen display with Gorilla Glass, and an 8MP rear-facing camera with dual-LED flash and Carl Zeiss optics. The camera is capable of 720p video capture, and the device also has a 1.3MP front-facing camera. It?s powered by a 1.4GHz processor and 512MB of RAM, and comes with 16GB of onboard storage. It doesn?t come with a memory card slot, which may be an issue for some. The Lumia 900 features LTE connectivity, which will definitely be a huge selling feature. Other connectivity options include the usual HSPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.

The update registration page also mentions that there is a surprise for those who pre-order being offered up by Rogers and Nokia. What the surprise is remains a secret, but Rogers hints saying ?there?s a hero rising out of the darkness?.

According to recently leaked information, Rogers will be releasing the LG Optimus L7 at some point in the future, likely within the next few months. Very few details are available about the device, but more information should find its way to the public soon enough. Currently, it?s known that the L7 will have a 4.3? display, a 5MP camera with LED flash and 1080p video capture, and will run on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). According to LG?s reveal of the L7 a few weeks back, it?ll be powered by a 1 GHz processor, though some speculation around the internet assumes it?ll be dual-core. Beyond that, there aren?t any other confirmed specifications, but you can expect the obvious connectivity options including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, HSPA, and A-GPS.

Additional rumours point to the Optimus L7 being launched within Rogers? Smartphone Lite category, though it seems unlikely at this point, particularly if it does have a dual-core processor, decent camera, etc. We?ll be sure to keep you updated on additional information as it becomes available, so check back to hear more about this new handset from LG.
