The last few months have been filled with rumours, but it's now confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S III will be coming to Canada on June 20th. Samsung, along with most carriers, have officially confirmed they will be releasing it, along with the official specifications of the device. To go along with that exciting news, Telus and Rogers have officially released some pricing details, and leaked information reveals some Bell and Virgin Mobile price points.

As many Canadians suspected, we will not be getting the same quad-core version that was recently released in Europe, but rather, the power and speed of a Snapdragon S4 Dual Core 1.5 GHz processor and 2 GB of RAM. It comes in two versions, one with LTE for the major carriers and their subsidiaries (Rogers, Bell, Telus, Virgin Mobile, Sasktel), and a non-LTE version for the other carriers including WIND Mobile, Videotron, and Mobilicity. The LTE version will be available in 16 GB or 32 GB models, however all carriers won?t necessarily offer both. The non-LTE version will be available in only a 16 GB version for now, however both devices also have a micro SD slot capable of an additional 32 GB of expandable memory. The Galaxy S III also features a 4.8" (1280?720 or 306ppi) HD Super AMOLED Gorilla Glass touch screen display, an 8 MP rear-facing camera with LED Flash and 1080p HD video recording as well as a secondary front-facing 1.9 MP camera capable of 720p recording. Also confirmed, but expected, the handset runs on the latest version of Android OS v4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich with Samsungs own TouchWiz UI with Motion UX.

As for pricing, the following information has been made available either officially, or via information leaked online:

Rogers - $149.99 on 3 year term for 16 GB model
Telus - $159.99 on 3 year term for 16 GB model, $679.99 outright. $209.99 on 3 year term for 32 GB model, $749.99 outright.
Bell - $599.95 outright for 16 GB model, $649.95 outright for 32 GB model
Virgin Mobile - $599.99 outright for 16 GB model, $649.99 outright for 32 GB model

Unfortunately pricing for the other confirmed carriers is currently unavailable, however Mobilicity is offering a $100 credit (paid out over 10 months) for those who pre-order before June 15th. Regardless, if you?re interested in picking up a Samsung Galaxy S III, you?ll have many options to choose from on June 20th!

Excitement in the rumour mill today is indicating that the Samsung Galaxy S III could be available as soon as June 20th through a variety of carriers. Details are unconfirmed as of yet but we do know that the device will be carried by Rogers, TELUS, Bell, Virgin Mobile, WIND, Videotron, SaskTel, Mobilicity. Rumours indicate that the phone will launch in white and "pebble blue," though more recent (unconfirmed) leaks indicate that there may be a delay in launch for the pebble blue model possibly due to manufacturing issues.

The Samsung Galaxy S III features a 4.8" (720 x 1280) Super AMOLED Gorilla Glass touch screen display, and is powered by a quad-core 1.4 GHz processor and 1 GB of RAM, and could come with anywhere from 16 GB to 64 GB of internal storage. It also features an 8 MP rear-camera with LED Flash and 1080p HD video recording as well as a secondary front-facing 1.9 MP camera capable of 720p recording. The Samsung Galaxy S III runs on the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich along with the latest TouchWiz UI version from Samsung for seamless integration with social networks such as Facebook, and Twitter.

There is still no mention of a price-point for any of the models as of yet, but with such an amazing phone soon to be widely available, be sure to check back soon for updates as more conclusive details roll out.

Samsung?s Galaxy Note has been a popular device in Canada, and has proven to be one of the best available for those who don?t mind the large size. And while the Tab line-up of tablets has been important in the progress of Android tablets in the market, it?s no surprise that Samsung is pushing the ?Note? name further. Scheduled for release sometime in the coming months, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 should merge the two series together, and has the specifications required to be successful.

Originally, the Note 10.1 was demonstrated to include a dual-core 1.4 GHz processor and the S Pen stylus, but no room in the hardware itself to store it when not in use. Now, thanks to newly leaked information, we know that the processor has been upgraded to a quad-core Exynos processor with a powerful Mali-T604 graphics chip. Additionally, Samsung has incorporated an S Pen slot, a move that makes a lot of sense. Other features include its 10.1? (800 x 1280) touch screen display and 3.15 MP camera with LED flash and 1080p HD video capture. The Note 10.1 runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, comes with 1 GB of RAM, and is set to be a Wi-Fi only tablet.

While nothing has been confirmed regarding a Canadian launch, Samsung has been relatively good about getting their devices to Canada recently, so we should see the device shortly after the United States does. Pricing is still unknown as well, but we?ll keep you updated on any further information throughout the coming weeks and months!

Possibly one of the most anticipated Android handsets since the OS was first introduced by Google, the Samsung Galaxy S III has been officially announced. It features a 4.8? (720 x 1280) Super AMOLED touchscreen display, and is powered by a quad-core 1.4 GHz processor. There will be two variations, an HSPA+ model and an LTE version. It comes with an 8 MP camera with LED flash and 1080p HD video recording, along with a 1.9 MP front-facing camera capable of 720p video capture. Other noteworthy specifications include its 1 GB of RAM, and its Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and NFC connectivity options.

Some of the features that make the S III unique in the Android market include SmartStay and S Voice. SmartStay uses the front-facing camera to detect when you are looking at the screen, preventing the display from timing out. S Voice allows users to give voice commands, and is somewhat similar to Siri on the iPhone. Those who purchase a Galaxy S III will also get a whopping 50 GB of extra Dropbox storage, and will have a wide array of accessories to purchase.

As for design, the Galaxy S III?s huge 4.8? screen rests inside an 8.6 mm thin body. The handset is going to be made in black and white versions, though it hasn?t been confirmed that we?ll see both in Canada. What has been communicated by Samsung, however, is that we will see the device sometime this summer! Pricing and carrier availability are unknown currently, but it?s likely that Rogers, Bell, and Telus will each offer the device, in one variation or another.

If you?re interested in this Ice Cream Sandwich device, you?re surely not alone. Check back soon as we?ll keep you updated on any further information pertaining to its launch!

Just as everybody expected, Apple announced their new iPad model today. It features a variety of minor upgrades over the iPad 2, but features a couple of major improvements such as the display and 4G LTE connectivity. The 9.7? screen, with an incredible resolution of 2048 x 1536, is being called the ?Retina? display despite it missing the mark that the iPhone 4 hits. This might not be the end of the world, however, since users typically hold the tablet further from their eyes than their smartphones. The other major plus is the 4G LTE option, with Rogers, Bell, and Telus already confirmed to be launching the tablet.

Other features include upgraded quad-core graphics processing and a 5MP rear facing camera with face detection, capable of 1080p video recording with image stabilization. As for battery life, Apple is claiming that it will get 10 hours of battery life, reduced to 9 hours for LTE connected iPads. Physical dimensions come in slightly bulkier than the iPad 2, at 9.4mm thin and 1.4lbs.

So when can you get your hands on one? It?s up for pre-order now on Apple?s website, and is confirmed to be coming to Rogers, Telus and Bell. On Apple?s website, they mention that pre-order shipments are expected for delivery between March 16th and 20th. Pricing for the Wi-Fi model comes in at $519 for 16GB model, $619 for the 32GB, and $719 for 64GB. The Wi-Fi + LTE option will cost you $649 for the 16GB version, $749 for the 32GB, and $849 for the 64GB. It will be available in both black and white. As a result of the near-future launch, Apple has reduced the price of the iPad 2 by $100 for each model ? good news for those looking for some savings!
