Telus has recently launched the HTC One X, one of the best Android handsets currently in market. Rogers has been offering this device exclusively for some time, but now Telus customers can get their hands on one as well.

The One X features a 4.7? (720 x 1280) Super IPS touchscreen display with Gorilla Glass, and runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. It comes with an 8 MP camera with LED flash and 1080p HD video captire, along with a front-facing 1.3 MP camera with 720p recording. As for power, the One X has a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor and 1 GB of RAM, and offers 16 GB of storage space. Connectivity options include LTE, HSPA, bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Beats Audio for music enthusiasts.

Those looking for an affordable entry-level Android handset will soon have another option to choose from, as Bell is reportedly getting ready to launch the LG Optimus L5. The device, which according to leaked internal documents is set for release on July 10th, is rumoured to cost around $200 outright, though we can?t confirm pricing details just yet.

The Optimus L5 features a 4? (480 x 320) touch screen display, along with a 5 MP camera that offers VGA video capture. It?s powered by an 800 MHz processor and 512 MB of RAM, and comes with a total of 4 GB of internal memory. This Android 4.0 ICS handset also offers up your standard connectivity options such as bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and HSPA, but adds in NFC support to add extra value.

With the rumours pointing to the $200 or so mark for outright purchases, it looks like these devices may become the new ?quick messages phones?. If you?re looking for an affordable Android handset, keep an eye on Bell as they?re expected to release the LG Optimus L5 on July 10th.

Fido has added yet another affordable but impressive option to their line-up of Android devices. The Sony Xperia U is now available for free on a 3-year term or just $300.00 as an outright purchase on Fido's website or at Fido locations. The Sony Xperia U features a 3.5" (480 x 854) scratch resistant touch screen display, and a 5 MP camera capable of 720p recording, as well as a secondary front-facing camera for video-chat. The Sony Xperia U is powered by dual-core 1 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM and has 4 GB of internal storage. For now, it runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread but Fido indicates that it will be upgraded to 4.0 in the near future. While it may be a modest phone compared to more recent releases, the Sony Xperia U has a great deal to be desired especially for such an affordable price. For those who have been waiting, the LG Optimus L7 is now available from Rogers and Fido. First, Fido put the L7 up on their website for free on a 3 year term, or just $300 outright. Rogers followed up by making it officially available as well, but for $0.01 on a 3 year term, or $274.99 contract-free.

The LG Optimus L7 features a 4.3" (480 x 800) Gorilla Glass touch screen display, and is powered by a 1 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM. It contains 2 GB of internal storage, as well as a microSD slot for up to 32 GB of extra storage. It also features a 5 MP camera with LED flash and runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The last few months have been filled with rumours, but it's now confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S III will be coming to Canada on June 20th. Samsung, along with most carriers, have officially confirmed they will be releasing it, along with the official specifications of the device. To go along with that exciting news, Telus and Rogers have officially released some pricing details, and leaked information reveals some Bell and Virgin Mobile price points.

As many Canadians suspected, we will not be getting the same quad-core version that was recently released in Europe, but rather, the power and speed of a Snapdragon S4 Dual Core 1.5 GHz processor and 2 GB of RAM. It comes in two versions, one with LTE for the major carriers and their subsidiaries (Rogers, Bell, Telus, Virgin Mobile, Sasktel), and a non-LTE version for the other carriers including WIND Mobile, Videotron, and Mobilicity. The LTE version will be available in 16 GB or 32 GB models, however all carriers won?t necessarily offer both. The non-LTE version will be available in only a 16 GB version for now, however both devices also have a micro SD slot capable of an additional 32 GB of expandable memory. The Galaxy S III also features a 4.8" (1280?720 or 306ppi) HD Super AMOLED Gorilla Glass touch screen display, an 8 MP rear-facing camera with LED Flash and 1080p HD video recording as well as a secondary front-facing 1.9 MP camera capable of 720p recording. Also confirmed, but expected, the handset runs on the latest version of Android OS v4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich with Samsungs own TouchWiz UI with Motion UX.

As for pricing, the following information has been made available either officially, or via information leaked online:

Rogers - $149.99 on 3 year term for 16 GB model
Telus - $159.99 on 3 year term for 16 GB model, $679.99 outright. $209.99 on 3 year term for 32 GB model, $749.99 outright.
Bell - $599.95 outright for 16 GB model, $649.95 outright for 32 GB model
Virgin Mobile - $599.99 outright for 16 GB model, $649.99 outright for 32 GB model

Unfortunately pricing for the other confirmed carriers is currently unavailable, however Mobilicity is offering a $100 credit (paid out over 10 months) for those who pre-order before June 15th. Thanks to internal documentation leaked online, we now know that Videotron intends to launch the Nokia Lumia 710 sometime in the coming weeks. Currently Rogers, WIND Mobile, and Mobilicity offer the affordable Windows Phone handset, and it ranges from $230 to $260 outright through these carriers.

The Lumia 710 features a 3.7? (480 x 800) touchscreen display with Gorilla Glass, and comes with a 5 MP camera with LED flash and 720p HD video capture. The handset comes with 8 GB of internal storage, and is powered by a 1.4 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM. Connectivity options are standard, with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.

The Galaxy Q is an entry-level Android handset that has a sliding QWERTY keyboard, and features a 3.2? (320 x 480) touch screen display. It comes with a 3.15 MP camera with LED flash, and runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Connectivity options are as expected, with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS, and the handset comes in black.

As for pricing, Videotron is offering up the Samsung Galaxy Q for $39.95 ?reduced price?, or $239.95 outright.

A while back we let you know that WIND Mobile was preparing to launch the Huawei Astro, which was expected to be available in late April. The Astro, otherwise known as the Huawei U8651, was delayed, but is now available.

The U8651 features a 3.5? (320 x 480) touch screen display, and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread. It has a 3.2 MP camera, and offers standard connectivity options including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS. The device itself comes in black, however has two extra covers in red and white included in the box.

Both WIND Mobile and Mobilicity have recently released the Samsung Galaxy Q, which features a 3.2? (320 x 480) touch screen display, and a 3.15 MP camera with LED flash. It runs Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and offers connectivity including Wi-Fi (with hotspot), Bluetooth, and GPS.

The Samsung Galaxy Q is now available from both WIND Mobile and Mobilicity for $199.99 outright. WIND, however, is also offering it up on the WINDtab for as little as $0.

(480 x 854) LED-backlit LCD touch screen display, with the Sony Mobile BRAVIA Engine. It has a 5 MP camera with LED flash and 720p HD video recording, along with a secondary VGA front-facing camera. Currently, the Xperia U runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, however Sony has expressed their intentions to upgrade it to 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The Xperia U is powered by a dual-core 1 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM, and comes with 4 GB of internal memory. Connectivity options are as expected, with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and HSPA.
