RIM have been holding a number of launch events across Canada to celebrate the new Torch 9800, which is launching in the comings days. We had the opportunity to attend the Toronto event on the 20th, and it was a great time! RIM definitely know how to make people feel welcome, and the event included the likes of MTV Canada hosts, Ben Mulroney, and more.

Some of the most interesting aspects of the party were artists painting Torch's live, DJ's, a HUGE Twitter wall, and number of Torch 9800 displays/demo stations. The event was packed, and everybody seemed to have a great time, from beginning to end! For those who couldn't make it, we snapped a few pics to keep you in the loop;

The Torch is a great step forward in the BlackBerry series, and the new OS is definitely an improvement over previous versions. Compared to most sliders, this device looks great, and still packs the reliability BlackBerry users have to come to rely on. Here are a few quick hands-on photos to tide you over until we get a chance to throw together a full video!
