Back in February, HTC announced the Flyer, their first android tablet. The Flyer has a 7" (1024x600) touchscreen display, and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread at launch, though it will eventually see Honeycomb. It's powered by a 1.5GHz processor, and will run HTC's latest version of Sense specifically designed for tablets. One of the features that makes the Flyer stand out is the Scribe technology, which aims to repopularize stylus use.

The HTC Flyer was recently added to's Canadian section, on the device registration page. Hopefully the addition of the device means a near-future launch. With the original announcement stating that the Flyer would be available globally in Q2, we should see this new tablet available sometime this summer.

The tablet market has been buzzing, and we've been keeping you updated on many of the new devices set to hit the scene this year - the PlayBook, Galaxy Tab 10.1, and HTC Flyer, among others. According to several sources, it looks like we'll be getting an official announcement regarding the iPad 2 on Wednesday, March 2nd. No word yet on exactly what information will be released, but we should get an overview of the iPad successor, and hopefully a rough timeframe for release. Speculation thus far is pointing to a thinner design, more powerful processor (dual-core?), and improved display, in addition to a front-facing camera for Facetime. We'll be sure to keep you updated on any advancements on the iPad 2, so stay tuned!

The tablet market has been exploding in recent months, with the iPad and Galaxy Tab having been available for a while now, and the highly anticipated BlackBerry PlayBook scheduled for release in the near-future. HTC is jumping into the tablet market now too, recently announcing the HTC Flyer, a 7" tablet that can also be used with a stylus for a natural writing feeling.

The Flyer features a 7" (1024 x 600) touchscreen display, and runs on Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread OS, along with a new version of HTC Sense that has been "re-imagined" for the tablet experience, including 3D effects. Powered by a 1.5GHz processor and 1GB of RAM, the Flyer comes with a 5MP camera with LED flash and 720p HD video capture, in addition to a 1.3MP front-facing camera.

No word yet on an exact release date, or pricing of the new HTC Flyer, but we should see it launch some time in the coming months on Telus.
