Details are unconfirmed as of yet but we do know that the device will be carried by Rogers, TELUS, Bell, Virgin Mobile, WIND, Videotron, SaskTel, Mobilicity. Rumours indicate that the phone will launch in white and "pebble blue," though more recent (unconfirmed) leaks indicate that there may be a delay in launch for the pebble blue model possibly due to manufacturing issues.

The Samsung Galaxy S III features a 4.8" (720 x 1280) Super AMOLED Gorilla Glass touch screen display, and is powered by a quad-core 1.4 GHz processor and 1 GB of RAM, and could come with anywhere from 16 GB to 64 GB of internal storage. It also features an 8 MP rear-camera with LED Flash and 1080p HD video recording as well as a secondary front-facing 1.9 MP camera capable of 720p recording. The Samsung Galaxy S III runs on the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich along with the latest TouchWiz UI version from Samsung for seamless integration with social networks such as Facebook, and Twitter.

There is still no mention of a price-point for any of the models as of yet, but with such an amazing phone soon to be widely available, be sure to check back soon for updates as more conclusive details roll out.

This is a bit of an odd scenario, one we don?t see too often. Sony recently announced their first device following their takeover of Sony Ericsson, the Xperia S, and clearly stated that it would be available globally in March. As such, it has been assumed that the device will land in Canada, though which carrier is unknown. Recently, Sony announced that the device has shipped globally, but that they?re leaving it up to carriers to announce specific availability.

Next, Sony posted an image on their Facebook page that made clear mention the device would be heading to Rogers. What most saw as a clear-cut indication turned out to be some kind of mistake, however. Sony removed the image from their Facebook page, and Rogers stated that they will not be selling the device directly, though it will work on their network. This has led to some back-and-forth online, with many people believing the handset will be sold unlocked in Sony Stores rather than through carriers. This would certainly be an interesting step for Sony to take, and if they?re going that route, it will be interesting to see the results.

The Sony Xperia S features a 4.3? (720 x 1280) display, and a 12 MP camera with LED flash and 1080p HD video capture. It has a secondary front-facing 1.3 MP camera capable of 720p video recording, and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, with ICS planned for Q2 sometime. Similarly to most recent Xperia handsets, it features the Mobile BRAVIA Engine and connectivity including HSPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth. It also comes with NFC capabilities, and is powered by a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor and 1 GB of RAM.

Both Telus and KOODO Mobile have officially released the INQ Cloud Touch, an affordable Android 2.2 handset. This new addition to their line-up features a 3.5" (320x480) touchscreen display, 5MP camera, and is powered by a 600MHz processor. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi with hotspot functionality, and bluetooth. The Cloud Touch places a focus on Facebook, and it looks as though INQ have included some of their own Facebook widgets for use on the homescreens.

If this sounds like something you may be interested in, it's available now from Telus for $29.99 on a 3 year term, or $229.99 contract-free. KOODO Mobile has it listed for $50 using the tab, or $200 outright.

Earlier this month, we let you know that Google announced Honeycomb 3.1 for tablets, and the Motorola XOOM got it almost immediately for U.S. customers. Soon afterwards, Motorola Canada let users know, via Facebook, that the update would be coming Canadians "soon". Now, they have come forward on Facebook once again, this time stating "Our best estimate is that it will be available in the next couple of months."

While the news that Motorola is still working on the update is good, it does come as a bit of a disappointment to XOOM owners that it will take a couple of months. Hopefully they will take action with all of the feedback they've received and push it out sooner, but only time will tell.

Microsoft recently held a Windows Phone preview event, meant to show off some of the new updates coming to the platform. As expected, the topic of focus was Mango, the next OS version of Windows Phone. Apparently Mango will bring forward 500 new features to "push the boundaries of the smartphone experience around communications, apps, and the Internet."

One of the new features included will be "Threads", which will allow users to switch between text, Facebook chat, and Windows Live Messenger within the same conversation. It will also bring improvements to multi-tasking, make Live Tiles more dynamic and information-filled, feature Internet Explorer 9, and much more.

According to the press release, Windows Phone Mango will be available on new devices being shipped this fall, and while the update should coincide with that time frame, they state "update timing will be provided closer to availability." We'll be sure to let you know once more information is made available.

At Google I/O last week, a variety of announcements came our way regarding Android. Ice Cream Sandwich, Movie Rentals, and more were announced. One of the other items unveiled at the event was Honeycomb OS 3.1, the next update in the tablet-specific OS. Included in the update are a variety of new featurs, including resizable widgets, USB accessory support, and more.

Unfortunately, like with most events of this type in the U.S., Canada wasn't really discussed a whole lot. U.S. Motorola XOOM owners began seeing the update shortly after the announcement, while there has been no sign of it north of the border. Finally, Motorola Canada came forward on Facebook and declared that the update is coming soon. No specific dates were provided, but they did say:

"Some of the feature upgrades include basic external SD card support for general SD file and media access, expanded support for USB-connected accessories, additional Bluetooth support and Picture Transfer Protocol to enable easier transfer of photo files to your PC."

Certainly great news for Canadian XOOM owners!
