A little while back, we let you know that Rogers employees had received documentation from LG regarding their Optimus L7 handset, but we haven?t heard anything official since. Now, internal documentation from Fido has been leaked online, indicating that the device will be launched by them as well.

The LG Optimus L7 features a 4.3? (480 x 800) touch screen display with Gorilla Glass, and a 5 MP camera with LED flash and VGA video recording. It runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and is powered by a 1 GHz processor and 512 MB of RAM. Other features include its secondary front-facing camera, and connectivity including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, etc.

As for pricing and a release time frame, no information is available as of yet. It?s likely that pricing will come in on the lower end of the spectrum, and with any luck, we?ll see the handset launch in the next month or so.

We expect Mobilicity to launch in another few cities by the end of November, and so it doesn't come as much of a surprise that they have extended their Friends and Family program to November 30th, giving access to this plan to many others in the first couple weeks of launch. The Friends and Family pricing will get customers who know a Mobilicity employee the $45 plan for just $30/month, or the $65 plan for just $40/month. Stay tuned for more information regarding the Edmonton and Vancouver launches!

We recently let you know that Mobilicity had launched a Friends & Family program, where they are offering up a couple highly-discounted price plans to anybody who knows a Mobilicity employee. The promotion/program has been officially extended to November 7th, giving everybody a few more days to take advantage of some incredible savings. The program offers up $45 plan for just $25, or the $65 plan for just $35 - savings of over 40%! If you know someone who works with Mobilicity, be sure to contact them quickly to take advantage of the program, as it's unlikely that it will be extended for a second time.

Rogers has recently implemented changed to their hardware upgrade program, changing eligibility from 24 months to 30 months (2.5 years), news that has been confirmed via Customer Care as well as RogersBuzz on Twitter. It doesn't come as much of a surprise since other carriers have similar timelines for upgrading devices, but it definitely isn't great news for those of us who like to switch up their devices and stay on top of the market. According to Rogers employees, some customers may be eligible for upgrades before the 30 month mark, though no guidelines or HUP structure is available to consumers. Additionally, the change won't affect the current iPhone upgrade program, so it looks like some customers may still be in the clear on this one.

We know that Mobilicity is planning to launch in additional cities besides Toronto by the end of the year, though no specific dates have been reported as of yet. Thanks to a rumour circulating on the internet recently, it looks like they may be planning to launch in Edmonton in the coming weeks. While the rumour is a bit unconventional compared to most in the wireless industry, this tip-off comes from a Kijiji job posting, with a 3rd party promotional company seeking to hire employees for a "Mobilicity Launch Promotion", where the selected candidates would canvass the streets of Edmonton asking random people to share their "cell phone horror stories", all while dressed up in halloween costumes!

What do you think, is this just an early promotional technique being put in place by Mobilicity, or will the new-entrant expand into Edmonton sometime around Halloween? Let us know in the forums!

Mobilicity is on a roll lately with their discounted handsets, price plans, and add-ons, and now they're offering up an amazing deal for friends and family of their employees. The new program, which is intended for those who know Mobilicity employees, gives users the option between 2 highly discounted plans - the $45 unlimited plan for just $25/month, and the $65 unlimited plan for just $35/month. If you know someone who works for Mobilicity, make sure to get in touch with them and ask about this amazing program, as they're probably the cheapest and most value-filled options available (as long as you're in a Mobilicity coverage zone). With all of these amazing deals, all that's left for the new entrant is expansion into more cities, which we'll hopefully see in the near future.

Telus employees recently began Q3 training, and the device line-up has already been leaked. We already know the iPhone 4 is launching tomorrow, and the HTC Desire, BlackBerry Curve 9300, and INQ Chat 3G already have August release dates in place. The Motorola Charm is an Android powered device featuring a full QWERTY keyboard, 2.8" (320x240) display, 3.15MP camera, with 3G, Wi-Fi, and GPS connectivity. The new LG Shine is also set to be released, though addition details are scarce. Finally, the portable Wi-Fi device will connect up to 5 others Wi-Fi enabled devices through a 3G data connection, and is the size of a computer mouse. The exact model, and pricing on all of these devices is being withheld until the day of launch, but we'll be sure to let you know if any additional information pops up.
