Motorola recently announced two new handsets, the ATRIX HD LTE and the RAZR V. The ATRIX HD LTE features a 4.5? (720 x 1280) touchscreen display with Gorilla Glass and an 8 MP camera with LED flash and 1080p HD video recording. It has a secondary 1.3 MP camera and is powered by a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor and 1 GB of RAM. The ATRIX HD LTE runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and offers up 8 GB of storage. Bell has announced that they will be offering the handset exclusively in Canada, and internal documents have since been leaked pointing to an early August release.

The RAZR V is expected to be fairly similar, with the main differences found in the display and processor. The RAZR V comes with a 4.3? (540 x 960) touchscreen display, and is powered by a dual-core 1.2 GHz processor. It lacks the LTE connectivity that the ATRIX HD offers, but still looks like a great device. The RAZR V will be available from Bell in August as well, but will not be an exclusive. WIND Mobile is also set to launch it a little bit later in the year, announcing they would be carrying it ?this fall?.

Unfortunately there has been no word on pricing, but we?ll be sure to keep you updated!

The One X has a 4.7? Super LCD 720p display, and is powered by a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor and 1 GB of RAM. It features an 8 MP camera capable of 1080p HD video capture, along with LTE connectivity and Beats Audio support.

We recently let you know that Telus was getting set to release the white Samsung Galaxy Note, and are happy to let you know that it?s now available! If you?re not a Telus customer or aren?t willing to make the switch, we also have good news for you, as Bell and Rogers are getting ready to launch it as well. Bell?s internal documentation confirms an April 10th release, while Rogers tweeted that it will be available from them as early as next week.

As for pricing, all 3 carriers are offering it for the same price as the standard black version. For Telus and Bell, that puts the cost at the $200 mark on a 3 year term, or $780 outright. Rogers also has it at $200 with a 3 year contract, with no term pricing at $650. As expected, features and specifications are also the same as the black version, boasting a 5.3? (800 x 1280) display, an 8MP camera, and running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, with an upgrade to ICS ?coming soon?.

We just let you know that Rogers will be releasing the HTC One X, hopefully in the coming weeks. Now, even more information has been made available, with Rogers officially taking pre-orders for the Android handset.

The One X features a 4.7? Super LCD 720p HD display, and an 8 MP camera with 1080p HD video recording. It offers up LTE connectivity, and is optimized for Beats Audio. Other features include its dual-core 1.5 GHz processor, 1 GB of RAM, and the standard.

As for pre-order details, you can secure yours at the price of $169.99 on a 3 year term. There?s a contest for those who pre-order, with a grand prize of an HTC prize pack, which includes a trip for 2 to Toronto for the 2012 Universal Music Video Awards After Party, $2500 spending money, and travel/hotel accommodations. The contest ends April 30th, which might point us towards a release date of early May, but nothing is confirmed as of yet. Head to Rogers? website to pre-order your HTC One X, and stay tuned for more information on a release timeframe.

This is a bit of an odd scenario, one we don?t see too often. Sony recently announced their first device following their takeover of Sony Ericsson, the Xperia S, and clearly stated that it would be available globally in March. As such, it has been assumed that the device will land in Canada, though which carrier is unknown. Recently, Sony announced that the device has shipped globally, but that they?re leaving it up to carriers to announce specific availability.

Next, Sony posted an image on their Facebook page that made clear mention the device would be heading to Rogers. What most saw as a clear-cut indication turned out to be some kind of mistake, however. Sony removed the image from their Facebook page, and Rogers stated that they will not be selling the device directly, though it will work on their network. This has led to some back-and-forth online, with many people believing the handset will be sold unlocked in Sony Stores rather than through carriers. This would certainly be an interesting step for Sony to take, and if they?re going that route, it will be interesting to see the results.

The Sony Xperia S features a 4.3? (720 x 1280) display, and a 12 MP camera with LED flash and 1080p HD video capture. It has a secondary front-facing 1.3 MP camera capable of 720p video recording, and runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, with ICS planned for Q2 sometime. Similarly to most recent Xperia handsets, it features the Mobile BRAVIA Engine and connectivity including HSPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth. It also comes with NFC capabilities, and is powered by a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor and 1 GB of RAM.

Research in Motion officially announced their intentions to launch an HSPA+ and LTE equipped PlayBook around this time last year, but nothing has made an appearance as of yet. Today, however, some good news surfaced ? The FCC (United States) has officially approved the device, which brings us one step closer to its release. To top it off, leaked information that has been floating around the internet recently points to Bell intending for an ?early April? launch, though they clearly state that launch dates are subject to change.

Rumoured features and specifications for the HSPA/LTE enabled PlayBook include a dual-core 1.5 GHz processor and NFC capabilities. Unfortunately, further details are currently unavailable, and rumours are even proving sparse. We?ll keep you updated on any new information as it becomes available!

Sony, which recently took over on the Sony Ericsson side of things, has officially announced another addition to their Xperia line-up, the sola. The sola has one feature that stands out in particular, its ?floating touch? display. It measures in at a pretty standard 3.7? (480 x 854), but lets you browse the web by hovering your finger to control a ?cursor?, and tapping to click. If it works fluidly, this could be especially helpful when clicking small links, and will bring the Xperia sola one step closer to desktop-like browsing.

Other specifications for the sola include its dual-core 1 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, and 8 GB of internal memory. It features a 5 MP camera with LED flash and 720p video capture, along with the usual Sony features like the Mobile Bravia Engine. Connectivity includes HSPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and NFC for those early adopters.

The Sony Xperia sola will be available in white, black, and red when it launches globally in a few months. No confirmation as of yet that it will be launching in Canada, but with most Sony handsets hitting our soil early, we?re hoping for a prompt and quick release here. Interested? We?ll keep you updated as more information is made available!

We recently let you know that Nokia and Rogers are getting set to launch the Lumia 900, but recent information being discussed online points to more from Nokia as it relates to Windows. Apparently, Nokia is looking to build and send out a batch of Windows 8 tablets running in Microsoft?s ?Metro? UI by the end of the year. No word on a Canadian release specifically, but with the tablet market heating up and another strong competitor coming on board with Windows 8, we should see it eventually.

There aren?t many other details available, though it?s expected to be powered by a Quallcomm dual-core chipset, and offers simple but not seamless support for existing Windows applications. Windows 8 is expected to launch this fall, and manufacturers such as Dell and HP are expected to have a strong presence early on. Could Nokia compete with these manufacturers in such a crowded tablet market?

Those looking to pick up a Windows Phone device will soon have another option to choose from in Mango flavour, as Rogers will start taking pre-orders for the Nokia Lumia 900 starting next week. The handset, which is expected to launch in early April, is rumoured to cost $629.99 contract free, and around the $99.99 mark with a 3 year term.

The Lumia 900 features a 4.3? (480 x 800) touch screen display with Gorilla Glass, and an 8MP rear-facing camera with dual-LED flash and Carl Zeiss optics. The camera is capable of 720p video capture, and the device also has a 1.3MP front-facing camera. It?s powered by a 1.4GHz processor and 512MB of RAM, and comes with 16GB of onboard storage. It doesn?t come with a memory card slot, which may be an issue for some. The Lumia 900 features LTE connectivity, which will definitely be a huge selling feature. Other connectivity options include the usual HSPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.

The update registration page also mentions that there is a surprise for those who pre-order being offered up by Rogers and Nokia. What the surprise is remains a secret, but Rogers hints saying ?there?s a hero rising out of the darkness?.
