While it comes as no surprise that Bell is launching the HTC Wildfire S since information was leaked a couple weeks back, it's still great to hear more about the upcoming release. The Wildfire S will apparently be launching soon, and according to an online dealer, will be priced at $249.95 contract-free.

The HTC Wildfire S features a 3.2" (320x480) Gorilla Glass touchscreen display, and a 5MP camera with LED flash. It will run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread at launch, and is powered by a 600MHz processor and 512MB of RAM. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi (with hotspot), bluetooth, and GPS.

Sasktel has announced that they will be launching their 3G+ network, a long anticipated piece of news for Saskatchewan residents. Along with the network, they've stated that they will be carrying the BlackBerry Bold 9700, Pearl 9100, Nokia 7230, Samsung Gravity 3, Samsung Gravity Touch, Nokia 6350, and a Novatel MC998D mobile data stick. Possibly the most exciting news, however, is that a Sasktel dealer's website has been updated to include an image of the Samsung Gravity S Vibrant, one of the most feature-rich Android devices available in Canada.

The Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant features a 4" (480x800) super AMOLED touch screen, 5MP camera with 720p HD recording, and 16GB of internal memory. The device runs on Android 2.1 Eclair featuring TouchWiz 3.0, and is powered by a 1GHz Hummingbird processor and 512MB of RAM.

Sasktel is set to launch their 3G+ network on Monday, August 16th, and dealers should be prepared to help customers get set-up on that date.

A few days ago Rogers dealers and employees began receiving specification/pricing sheets for the BlackBerry Pearl 3G, branded with an effective date of May 26th, 2010. With this information officially released, stock should be filling up for both retail and direct fulfillment outlets any day now, with some already received shipments.

The BlackBerry Pearl 3G 9100 maintains the familiar Pearl shape, staying compact with a 20-key QWERTY Suretype keyboard, but adding the optical trackpad. It features a 360x400 display, 3.15MP camera, 624MHz processor, and 256MB of internal memory, which is expandable up to 32GB via microSD. This new handset developed by RIM supports 3G network connectivity, as well as Wi-Fi (b, g, and n - a first for BlackBerry devices) and bluetooth, making it one of the most feature-filled BlackBerry handsets released to date.

The BlackBerry Pearl is officially available now through Rogers, and costs $49.99 on a 3 year term, or $449.99 outright. We've also received word that Rogers will be offering the device for $29.99 with a 3 year contract as a promotion, however no word on how long that pricing will be effective for, or the exact eligibility criteria.

Rogers will be offering the popular Blackberry 9700 in white sometime in the near-future. Dealers started receiving dummy models this week, which can only mean live models should be available soon. No word yet if the other carriers will also begin offering it in white, but this will definitely make a nice addition to the Rogers line-up. All features will remain the same except for color, and pricing shouldn't differ from the current model.

The Blackberry Stratus, also known as the Pearl 9100 is headed to Bell as pricing was spotted recently in their systems. Further indication that Canadians will be able to purchase this phone in the near-future turned up today when some Rogers dealers received dummy phones. The Pearl 9100 is rumored to feature HSPA, Wi-Fi, bluetooth, and will have RIM's newest hardware improvement - an optical trackpad. It's also rumored to have a 3.15MP camera, and will support memory expansion via microSD. Since we already got word Telus will be getting this device, it looks like Canadians will have at least a few options very soon.
