Samsung Galaxy S II launching in Canada in Q3?

The current Galaxy S series handsets have done really well in Canada, with each of the big 3 carriers offering up their own version. Samsung has made it fairly obvious that they intend on being a major competitor in the Android market, and that has been made even more evident since details emerged regarding the upcoming Galaxy S II.

The Samsung Galaxy S II is an impressive top-end handset that comes with a 4.27" (480x800) Super AMOLED Plus Gorilla Glass touchscreen display and an 8MP camera with LED flash and 1080p HD video recording. It features a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, at least 16GB of internal storage, and 1GB of RAM. The Galaxy S II will launch running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and will come with the latest version of TouchWiz UI (v4.0). Other notable features include a 2MP front-facing camera, bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi (b, g, n and hotspot), along with GPS.

No word on pricing or which carrier will be offering up the latest Galaxy S handset, but according to information floating around online, we should see the device launch in Q3 at the latest.
