Rogers BlackBerry Curve 9300 and Bold 9700 receive software update, enabling UMA calling

Rogers is pushing out software updates to BlackBerry Curve 9300 and Bold 9700 owners that will enabled UMA (previously known as TalkSpot) functionality, enabling voice calls over Wi-Fi. While the use of the service does require a UMA specific plan, this is a great option for anybody looking to use their BlackBerry devices as both cellular and home phones. Many users will have already received the update notification, and those who haven't should be getting it very soon. Beware, the update takes about an hour, so doing it OTA (over-the-air) will mean a lack of service for that amount of time.
