Apple iPhone 4 announced, coming to Canada in July

Apple held their annual WWDC conference today, announcing the launch of the Apple iPhone 4. The new iPhone boasts a considerable upgrade to the existing line-up, featuring a 3.5" (640x960) display, 5MP camera with 720p high definition video recording capabilities at 30 fps, and the upcoming iOS 4. The device will be available in black or white, in both 16GB and 32GB variations, and reshapes the design of iPhones as we know it today coming in at only 9.3mm thick. Powering the device is the Apple A4 processor, which clocks in at 1GHz, and users can expect added features such as video calling over Wi-Fi(b, g, n), HSPA connectivity, and GPS. The freshly announced iPhone 4 will also include a built in gyro-sensor, creating 6-axis control for even more gaming possibilities.

The iPhone 4 is slated for launch on June 24th in 5 countries, though Canada is not included among them unfortunately. Though no exact date is available, it is confirmed that Canadians can expect to get their hands on one sometime in the month of July. Pricing is expected to be $199 for the 16GB model, and $299 for the 32GB model on 3 year terms, though Rogers will be offering it at these prices on contracts of only 2 years, so we can remain hopeful.
