telus drops HTC Hero pricing to $29.99 with 3 year contract

telus has recently dropped the price for the HTC Hero to $29.99 with a 3 year contract, likely in preparation for the upcoming Desire(Triumph?) handset launch. The HTC Hero is an HSPA device, runs on Android OS 2.1 with SenseUI to deliver a smooth user experience, and is available in either black or white. Unfortunately all other price points for the handset remain the same, at $399.99 on a 2 year term, or $499.99 outright.

With this price drop, we expect the HTC Desire to arrive in the near future, with all signs pointing to a mid-June launch, though no exact pricing/availability information is available yet.
